Pain can be felt anywhere along the ligament, and it usually is felt upon standing after a period of rest, (most commonly with the first few steps in the morning.) This is also known as &#8220;Heel Spur Syndrome.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Causes<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Plantar fasciitis is caused by repeated overuse and strain to the plantar fascia, such as <strong>high impact activities<\/strong> like <strong>running, jumping, dancing<\/strong>; as well as jobs that require long hours of standing, like <strong>teachers, retail workers,<\/strong> and <strong>factory workers.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: large; color: #800000;\">Symptoms<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Stiffness in the foot<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Discomfort in the heel\/ foot area after extended periods of rest such as sleeping<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Tenderness when touching the area<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: large;\">A stiff achilles tendon<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: large; color: #800000;\">Treatment<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Plantar fasciitis can be treated with things such as physical therapy, rest, <a href=\"https:\/\/crimsonfootcare.com\/staging\/3867\/custom-foot-orthotics\/\">custom foot orthotics<\/a>, stretching, and ice. 90% of patients with plantar fasciitis are able to treat it through nonsurgical means, however surgical treatments do exist, which include:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Gastrocnemius recession<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Partial plantar fascia release<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][\/et_pb_section]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Plantar Fasciitis Overview Characterized by inflammation of the plantar fascia ligament which runs from the ball of the foot to across the arch and into the heel.
